The "2026 Jeonju Makgeolli Festival," held in the cultural city of Jeonju, is a signature local festival that promotes Jeonju's own makgeolli and food culture, where citizens and tourists come together to share the flavor and warmth of Jeonju. It features tasting and sales of makgeolli produced in Jeonju, and the Samcheon-dong Makgeolli Alley merchants' association and local restaurants take part with a variety of side dishes that pair well with makgeolli and Jeonju's distinctive foods. It also offers cultural performances including gijeopnori (a traditional folk game), invited performances, and a retro DJ party, and runs experience events anyone can join, such as a citizen karaoke and a makgeolli challenge. Through a festival where local breweries, restaurants, and alley commerce come together, it aims to promote the excellence of Jeonju makgeolli and revitalize the local economy. Under the slogan "Under the Autumn Moonlight, Get Drunk on Jeonju Makgeolli!", the flavor and style of Jeonju, lively performances, and participation programs come together to leave all citizens and tourists with special autumn night memories.
