About the festival
The Gochang Moyangseong Fortress Festival is a history and culture festival centered on Moyangseong, the best-preserved fortress of its kind in Korea. Its signature program, dapseong nori, turns the legend that walking the wall once cures leg ailments, twice brings long life and three times leads to paradise into a hands-on experience. There is also a night dapseong and ganggangsullae circle dance under the moon, a street parade of about 1,000 residents depicting past, present and future, “Returns 1453”, a journey back in time inside the fortress, and food and a farmers’ market with Gochang specialties.
