About the festival
Gunsan Time Travel Festival is Gunsan’s signature festival, set in modern Gunsan, which preserves the history of people’s resistance and hard lives under Japanese colonial rule, and lets you experience stories and cultures across past, present and future. This year offers even more for citizens and visitors to take part in: a global modern flash mob, a reenactment of the March 5 independence cheers filling the streets, the Gunsan Port Night Pier contest, “Operation 1919 Taegeukgi”, “Defend the Declaration of Independence” and “Become an Independence Fighter”. Mission programs such as the Time Traveler’s Secret Passport, modern costume experiences, citizen-planned programs, a flea market, food and performances fill the festival grounds.
