The Birth of the Jeolla Governor

About the festival

"The Birth of the Jeolla Governor" is a hands-on historical experience program set in Jeolla Gamyeong, in which visitors solve an incident from the Joseon era at the provincial office and take part in the process of a new Jeolla governor (gwanchalsa) being born. With about 20 professional actors performing in real time, incidents in the story world connect into a single play at set times. Visitors also hear the stories of Joseon-era occupations from the figures at Jeolla Gamyeong, and engage with the daily life of the Joseon provincial office through nostalgic games and Joseon job experiences. Going beyond simply watching, visitors become part of the play and experience the historic site.
