About the festival
Held since 2021 against the backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Suwon Hwaseong Media Art concluded its 2021–2025 season “Mancheon Myeongwol: King Jeongjo’s Dream Becomes Light” and returns in 2026 as “Saebit Dongnak: Hwaseong Blooms with Light”, welcoming guests with new light and celebrating together. This night festival tells the stories of people across time since the fortress was built through giant media art combining light, video and performance around Hwaseomun Gate, plus interactive media art in Jangan Park, over 18 days.
