About the festival

The Semiwon Water Lily Cultural Festival is a signature autumn garden festival at Semiwon in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do. Surrounded on three sides by Paldang Lake, Semiwon is a garden of water and flowers and Gyeonggi-do’s first local garden, featuring traditional Eastern garden design and many aquatic plants. The festival showcases water lilies, including the giant Victoria water lily known as the queen of flowers, exotic Australian lilies and colorful tropical lilies, offering a relaxing escape. As the 2026 host of the Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo, it adds even richer garden content. The area, linked to the pontoon bridge history of Joseon scholar Jeong Yak-yong, also has a lotus museum, jar fountain, Sehanjeong pavilion and a pontoon bridge.
