About the festival

Goyang Agricultural Technology Center will hold the 13th Goyang Urban Agriculture Festival from October 31 to November 1. The festival is designed to explore the cycle of urban agriculture, from sprouting in soil to growing in the city, and the value of a farming community built together by Goyang residents. Visitors can take part in a progressive hands-on program by collecting an Urban Farmer Certification Card for a stamp quest from the event headquarters. They then experience four stages—sowing, tending, harvesting and using the produce—to follow a year of farming and collect stamps. After submitting the completed pamphlet to the headquarters, participants receive a commemorative gift. Other hands-on activities let visitors work with soil, flowers and herbs in the city to help relieve stress and support well-being. Advance registration is also open for an agricultural therapy experience group until October 28; participation is entirely free. The venue comprises four activity zones and a farmers' market. The Urban Agriculture Zone offers seed-bomb making, green onion planting, insect specimen workshops and rhinoceros beetle activities. The Agricultural Therapy Zone features eco-friendly cinnamon-water making, herbal foot-bath tea bags and rose postcard making. The Future Agriculture Zone introduces a mobile plant clinic, future insect farming and urban farming. The Farming Culture Zone offers Gawaji rice tastings, farm machinery displays and straw-rope wreath making. The farmers' market sells eco-friendly agricultural produce, flowers and succulents.
