About the festival

The Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival, held in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, celebrates the life, thought and practical learning (Silhak) of Jeong Yak-yong. The 40th festival takes place on October 17 and 18, 2026 at the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site and Dasan Eco Park. Programs include flower and tea offerings, an opening ceremony, a 40th anniversary fashion show by designer Lie Sang-bong on the 17th and a concert with Urban Zakapa and others on the 18th, a robot creation contest and a literary contest. Activities include a treasure hunt mission, a digital detox exile experience, a future workshop with AI and robots and traditional games and hanbok, with busking and a market at Dasan Eco Park.
