About the festival

The 22nd Poeun Cultural Festival honors the life and spirit of Poeun Jeong Mong-ju and shares traditional culture with citizens. Marking the 620th anniversary of the reburial of his remains, it takes place on October 10 and 11, 2026 around his tomb in Mohyeon-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, under the theme “Breath of Poeun: Continuing 620 Years”. A reburial procession and memorial rite retrace his footsteps, followed by a ceremony, concerts, the Yongin folk arts festival and performances by winners of a national youth gugak competition. Children can try a mock civil service exam, and there are Poeun School, traditional culture activities, food trucks and a farm products market, plus the RE-BORN mission linking it with September’s Cheoinseong Festival.
