About the festival
The Imsil N Cheese Festival is Korea’s signature cheese festival, celebrating the pioneering spirit of Belgian priest Father Didier t’Serstevens (Ji Jeong-hwan), who began with two goats in 1967 and created Korea’s first cheese after many trials. Through varied activities and tourism content themed on Imsil N Cheese, it delights visitors from Korea and abroad. Highlights include the large-scale “Stretch My Cheese” where everyone pulls and shares cheese, eye-catching exhibitions, exciting contests and food programs, all run with residents as a festival that grows together with the community.
