About the festival
The Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is Suwon’s signature arts festival, reimagining King Jeongjo’s eight-day royal visit to Hwaseong in 1795. The historic moments recorded in Wonhaeng Eulmyo Jeongni Uigwe come alive through performances, parades, activities and citizen programs around the UNESCO World Heritage Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. The highlight, King Jeongjo’s Royal Procession, is Korea’s largest royal parade. By day enjoy traditional culture and participatory programs, and by night high-quality performances set against the fortress’s beautiful scenery.
