About the festival

The Seongju Gayasan Golden Field Grasshopper Festival, Seongju’s signature autumn festival, is a resident-led eco-friendly farm festival set against the clean nature of Gayasan Mountain and Daegacheon Stream and golden rice fields. Catch and observe grasshoppers, dig sweet potatoes, fish for apples and catch catfish, and join an autumn sports day for all ages with gourd breaking, jegichagi, group jump rope and rubber-shoe archery. There are also rice cake pulling and stamping, a stamp tour, treasure hunts, traditional games, a wooden playground, cotton candy and circus shows, free tastings of local livestock products, farm product sales, restaurants and food trucks.
