About the festival

The 2026 Gwangju Gastronomy Week connects the rich food culture and culinary resources of Jeonnam and Gwangju with tourism, letting you experience Gwangju’s unique food ecosystem where ingredients, dishes, people, places and culture are linked. Master artisans who have kept local flavors alive, young chefs reinterpreting tradition and food activists exploring ecological values come together. It opens at the hanok Ogaheon, and from October 2 to 11 the Discount Week, in partnership with the Blue Ribbon Survey, offers verified restaurants and special deals. The Yangnim Spoon Week highlights restaurants in historic Yangnim-dong, and sustainable programs include “See, Eat and Learn” and a vegan food trip, with a promotion booth at the Asia Culture Center and online events.
