Family Book Festival

About the festival

Family Book Festival is the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's flagship reading culture festival, held every autumn at Jeongdok Public Library since 2013. It provides a place where families and neighbors can come together and communicate through books, and is designed so that people experience the joy and value of reading in daily life through various experiences, performances, and exhibitions. In particular, it has developed into a collaborative festival by operating programs in which citizens and students take part directly, with the combined efforts of libraries, lifelong learning centers, local bookstores, and school reading clubs. With programs such as an awards ceremony for reading families, cultural performances, creative activities linked to books, and eco-friendly and traditional culture experiences, it can be enjoyed by people of all ages, and is a meaningful event that gives an occasion to feel reading as a joy of life and a value of community beyond a simple activity.
