"Collection, Scenes of the Times"

About the festival

"Collection, Scenes of the Times" selects 70 works from the Arko Art Center collection and highlights the meaning and value of the collection within the main currents of Korean contemporary art and the exhibition history of the Arko Art Center. Following the works of 60 artists who took part in Arko Art Center exhibitions from the 1970s to the 2000s, it looks again at the diverse trends of Korean contemporary art in those periods and the artistic achievements of the artists. Alongside the works, archive materials show the artists' activities and the museum's exhibition history. Research findings on the collection, carried out by outside researchers for this exhibition, are added to unfold the multilayered story of Korean contemporary art.
