*The food information below is from last year's (2025) festival; the 2026 festival food information is being updated.* The Gwangju Kimchi Festival, representing Korea's kimchi culture, continues its 33-year history and is held again this year for three days, from October 23 to 25, at the Gwangju office building of Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City. Held in Jeonnam-Gwangju, the kimchi capital that has kept the tradition and value of kimchi alive, the festival brings together the past, present, and future of kimchi in one place, from traditional kimjang culture to new kimchi content. Through varied programs such as the Korea Kimchi Competition, kimchi-making experiences, a kimchi market, and the Table of a Thousand (a dining space enjoyed with cultural performances), you can experience our unique food culture and stories. In particular, it is developing into a food culture festival with Gwangju's own character that connects local food culture, arts, and tourism content with kimchi and invites citizens to take part.
