2026 Geumnam-ro Car-Free Street “Geotjaing”

About the festival

“Geotjaing” blends local dialect with the English “-ing” to mean “let’s keep walking together” along Geumnam-ro. In line with Gwangju’s pledge to become a city of public transport, cycling and walking, the event creates a car-free street for rest and connection that helps tackle the climate crisis. In 2026 it runs on the first Saturday of every month from April to November, with free walking space, hands-on programs and cultural performances.
