About the festival

This participatory expo extends the value of Gurye's clean soil and eco-friendly agriculture into exhibition, activity, gourmet, performance and win-win content, so that visitors can see, walk on, touch and taste soil and naturally understand and practice the meaning of carbon neutrality. It turns the broad challenge of responding to climate change and practicing carbon neutrality into the everyday theme of 'soil and agriculture' to encourage understanding and voluntary participation from residents and visitors. It also builds distinctive expo content unique to Gurye by linking local clean soil and eco-friendly agriculture with Korean wheat, local agricultural specialties, return-to-farming and rural resettlement policies, and the tourism resources of Jirisan and the Seomjin River. Moving away from an exhibition-centered viewing event, it operates participatory programs combining walking, activities, gourmet food, performances, sales and stay-based tourism so that visitors can directly experience the value and importance of soil. Through this event, it aims to build a cooperative system in which local farmers, related organizations, companies, artists and residents take part as both content providers and event organizers, contributing to local economic revitalization and the creation of community value.
