About the festival
The 30th Bupyeong Pungmul Festival fills the city with joy and harmony for the thirtieth time. Since 1997 this festival, one of Korea’s leading traditional arts festivals, has brought traditional rhythms into the heart of the city and become a place where citizens and artists come together, with the exciting beats of 22 neighborhood pungmul troupes at its core. Held for three days from October 2 to 4, 2026, the 30th edition looks back on three decades of tradition and celebrates the future on its grandest scale yet, expanding to the Gulpocheon Stream area, a symbol of Bupyeong’s urban regeneration.
