About the festival
First held in 2003, the Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival has a 23-year history. It has been named a Culture and Tourism Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism eight times, selected as a regional representative performing arts festival six years in a row, designated an honorary Culture and Tourism Festival since 2020 and rated top tier in Chungcheongnam-do’s festival evaluation two years running. The 2026 edition runs for five days from October 1 to 5, featuring a national dance competition, a world dance competition and a street dance parade in downtown Cheonan around the Cheonan Sports Complex and Cheonan Samgeori Park.
