About the festival
Jeongseon Arirang Festival is Jeongseon’s signature cultural tourism festival, held to carry on and develop the history, cultural value and tradition of Jeongseon Arirang, Korea’s iconic folk song. It shares the value of Arirang, inscribed on the UNESCO intangible heritage list, through performances blending tradition and modernity, parades, hands-on programs, exhibitions and arts events for all generations. Residents take part in planning and running the festival, and programs linked to local cultural and tourism resources help the local economy as it grows into a global festival.
