About the festival
The Gyeryong Military Culture Festival is a defense-themed cultural event in Gyeryong, home to the Army, Navy and Air Force headquarters, first held in 2007 and now in its 16th edition. From October 1 to 5, 2026, it opens with a concert by top artists such as Sohyang and Forestella, followed by military band and honor guard performances and Army performance team shows across the stages and runway. The largest-ever road parade and a city parade with about 700 participants add energy, and visitors can try military equipment and shooting, an extreme ranger challenge, a barracks experience and VR and AR. A history lecture by Professor Shin Byung-ju, a 20 m LED video theater and a children’s theme park round out the program.
