About the festival
The Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival carries on the spirit of the 1970s Daegu Contemporary Art Festival, when young artists challenged the rigid art establishment with bold experiments, and is held around Gangjeong Weir. Gangjeong is historically significant as the site of the 3rd Daegu Contemporary Art Festival in 1977, Korea’s first large-scale collective art event with about 200 artists.
