Ulsan Culture Expo

About the festival

Under the slogan "My Ulsan, Our City," the 2026 Ulsan Culture Expo is a comprehensive cultural festival exploring how individual residents' everyday lives and stories come together to form the city's culture. Following the inscription of the Petroglyphs along the Bangucheon Stream on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2025, Ulsan has drawn attention as a city where ancient history and contemporary culture coexist. Just as prehistoric people carved their lives into rock, today's residents are shaping the city's culture in their own ways. This year's expo focuses on how individual cultures, beginning with "My Ulsan," become the shared asset of "Our City." Its core value is "Cultural Governance That Grows Together." Residents, local artists, cultural businesses, universities and public institutions participate in planning and operations, creating a shared cultural space rather than a one-way exhibition. Exchange programs with representatives from cultural cities across Korea will also share Ulsan's experiences and broaden cooperation between regions. The 2026 Ulsan Culture Expo aims to become a signature cultural platform where residents shape the city's future as active participants in its culture.
