About the festival
The festival information below describes the 2026 event; information for the 2027 festival is being updated. The Cheorwon Hantangang Ice Trekking Festival is a signature winter festival held against the snowy scenery of the Hantangang River in Cheorwon. It has been inducted into the Korea Festival Contents Awards Hall of Fame and designated an outstanding culture and tourism festival by the Ministry of Culture for 2026–2027. Linked to the Cheorwon Hantangang Floating Trail trekking course, the festival offers views of the snowy river landscape, performances and winter activities throughout the event at the main venue below Seungilgyo Bridge. Events include the 'Ddongbaram Muscle Run.'
