About the festival

The 'Busan Fireworks Festival' is Korea's leading multimedia fireworks festival over the sea, held around Gwangalli Beach and Gwangandaegyo Bridge. Beginning with a celebratory fireworks show for the 2005 APEC Summit, it marks its 21st year this year as Busan's signature autumn cultural event. Using the special lighting and large-scale staging system of Gwangandaegyo Bridge, the festival presents a giant multimedia show over the sea in which music and fireworks come together. With original staging techniques that use the geographical features of Gwangalli's night sea and large-scale fireworks launches, it has established itself as a global festival that draws many visitors from Korea and abroad every year. This year's 21st edition plans to decorate Busan's night sky with more refined storytelling and fireworks staging over the sea.
