Goesan Kimchi-making Festival

About the festival

The 2026 Goesan Kimjang Festival is a kimjang (kimchi-making) culture festival held for four days from November 5 to 8, 2026, around Organic Expo Plaza and Goesan Sports Complex in Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Participants make kimchi themselves using local produce grown in Goesan, such as napa cabbage and chili peppers. Signature programs include One-Stop Kimjang, where participants mix kimchi at Organic Expo Plaza with pre-ordered salted cabbage and fillings and take it home, and Drive-Through Kimjang, where visitors park at an individual booth in Goesan Sports Complex, make kimchi, and load the finished kimchi into their car. The festival also offers a kimjang experience for children and teenagers, the Master's Kimjang Booth with kimjang masters, and a Kimchi of the World tasting event. Other main events include the K-Red Food Street, a grilling zone, and the Korea Kimjang Contest. Separately from the festival site, a Village Kimjang Experience, in which visitors make kimjang in Goesan villages, is also held throughout November.
