About the festival

The 2026 Hongseong Baekban Festa is a leading local food festival presenting a variety of food and cultural content made with Hongseong's fresh local food and regional specialties. Now in its second year, the festival is set in Gwangcheon Cultural Market, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and combines the region's traditions with modern food culture. It features distinctive menu items that reinterpret Hongseong's agricultural and marine products, including the signature baekban meal, baekban dumplings, kimchi and salted-shrimp pancakes, Hongseong garlic hotteok, and Gwangcheon seaweed cream shrimp. Dishes developed by local young entrepreneurs also showcase the new possibilities and creative ideas of local food. Besides food, there are hands-on programs open to all ages, such as making Gwangcheon seaweed snacks, a Hongseong beef mini-burger cooking class, and the Hongseong Treasure Hunt Challenge, along with exhibitions, busking performances, and the "Hongseong Baekban 6 Flavors Puzzle Tour." Linked with the celebration of the market's 100th anniversary and the Gwangcheon Seaweed and Salted Shrimp Festival, it energizes the local commercial district and promotes Hongseong's rich food resources and cultural value.
