Busan Folk Arts Festival

About the festival

The 6th Busan Comprehensive Folk Arts Festival, hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, is a traditional culture festival that introduces Busan's intangible heritage and traditional folk culture through performances and experiences. It is held for Busan citizens and tourists from October 24 to 25, 2026, at Dasom Plaza in Busan Citizens Park. Its main programs consist of Pungnyu Madang, centered on performances; Solssi Madang, centered on experiences; and Janchi Madang, centered on participatory programs. Pungnyu Madang is a space with an opening ceremony, performances of intangible heritage from Busan and other regions, performances by training schools, global performances, special performances, and citizen participation programs. Solssi Madang is a space offering experiences of craft and performing arts intangible heritage, traditional culture making, traditional food, and cultural heritage care. Janchi Madang is a space offering a traditional play zone, the Busan Intangible Heritage Art Fair, a traditional and craft market tied to Hanbok Culture Week, a stamp tour and wish-paper writing, and hanbok rental and traditional accessory experiences. The festival is designed so that visitors can encounter Busan's intangible heritage and traditional culture through performances and participatory experiences.
