The Chiaksan Sweet Potato Festival is an autumn festival that promotes Chiaksan sweet potatoes, a local specialty of Wonju, and brings farmers and consumers together. At the direct-sale farm market, visitors can find local produce including Chiaksan sweet potatoes, and producers and consumers meet directly and share the joy of the harvest. The festival grounds offer a variety of food, and a reenactment of the Joseon Korean Envoy procession (Tongsinsa) gives a glimpse of traditional culture. The festival aims to expand sales channels and boost consumption of local produce, convey the value of farmers, and bring residents and visitors together.
