About the festival
The Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo Beef Festival has been held every autumn since 2023 to promote Hapcheon County’s beef brand and now marks its fourth year. Registered as a brand in 1999 and run by Hapcheon County and the Hapcheon Livestock Cooperative, Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo is raised for more than 16 months on special feed mixed with red clay, prized for its tender texture and rich flavor. Hosted by the cooperative with county support, the festival has grown every year, from about 30,000 visitors in 2023 to about 79,000 visitors and KRW 1.2 billion in sales over three days in 2025.
