About the festival
Held every October since 2016, the Jeju Flatfish Festival is Korea’s only festival devoted to flatfish, promoting farmed Jeju flatfish and its quality. Sashimi, sushi, fish cakes, tteokbokki and pancakes made with flatfish are sold at low prices by the farmers who raise the fish. Events include a Jeju flatfish singing contest, a youth dance competition, a children’s drawing contest and bare-hand flatfish and flounder catching for residents, tourists and children alike.
