About the festival
Inspired by the spirit of King Sejong’s creation of Hangeul, the festival has been held since 2013 and was renamed from Sejong Festival to Sejong Hangeul Festival in 2025. Performances, exhibitions and activities reinterpret the beauty and creativity of Hangeul for today, so people of every generation and nationality can enjoy it together. Artists’ passion, citizens’ smiles and visitors’ excitement come together as Hangeul becomes art and play, and the festival is growing into Sejong City’s distinctive cultural tourism festival in its downtown parks.
