About the festival
The 14th German Village Beer Festival is Namhae County’s signature cultural tourism festival, based on the exotic scenery of the German Village and the history of Korean workers sent to Germany. The village was settled by Koreans who worked as miners and nurses in Germany in the 1960s and 70s and later returned home, preserving their lives and the history of Korea–Germany exchange. Inspired by Germany’s Oktoberfest, the festival offers German food and beer, music, parades and activities, linking this history to its content as a global festival for visitors from Korea and abroad.
