About the festival

The Saenggeo Jincheon Cultural Festival, held since 1979, is the long-standing local festival of Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, held every autumn on the banks of Baekgokcheon Stream in Jincheon-eup. It carries on local culture, offers arts for residents and visitors and promotes community harmony and the local economy. Programs include a folk arts competition, a local food contest and a ssireum wrestling tournament, along with performances, exhibitions, activities and a food market for all generations. Jincheon, long known for wide fields and fertile farmland, also sells its farm specialties at the festival, which draws tens of thousands of visitors each year.
