About the festival
The 23rd Seosan Haemieupseong Fortress Festival is a history and culture festival held for three days from October 9 to 11, 2026 around Haemieupseong Fortress. Under the theme “HAEMI UNIVERSE: 1421, The Gate of Time Opens”, it brings the 600-year-old fortress’s spaces and stories to life through performances and activities. Highlights include King Taejong’s royal hunting procession, a fortress-building procession, a themed performance, a drone light show, a Black Eagles flyover and Haemi The Classic, plus hands-on programs such as the RPG “Return to Haemi”, traditional costumes, horse riding, Korean archery and calligraphy. Media facades and night lighting fill the fortress, with local artist performances and a traditional wedding.
