About the festival
Beginning as the Ureuk Arts Festival in 1971, the Ureuk Cultural Festival carries on the musical spirit of the great musician Ureuk and showcases the culture and arts of Chungju. The 54th festival, with the slogan “Tomorrow’s Chungju in Ureuk’s Echo”, takes a new-tro concept that reinterprets the culture of the 1980s and 90s. Enjoy performances blending traditional and contemporary art, arts competitions, exhibitions and activities and programs with youth, citizens and local artists, along with works by young creators and a market of Chungju farm products and food. It runs from October 8 to 11, 2026 at Tangeum Park and the Chungju Culture Center.
