About the festival

The Jeungpyeong Insam-gol Festival is a representative local festival held every autumn in Jeungpyeong County, North Chungcheong Province, and a comprehensive cultural festival that combines diverse cultural and artistic performances, hands-on programs, exhibitions and contests. Jeungpyeong, which accounts for about two-thirds of North Chungcheong's ginseng output and has established itself as the home of ginseng, has long been a center of ginseng cultivation and distribution, and the festival promotes the excellence of the local specialties ginseng and red ginseng pork to Korea and the world. Main programs include the 'Inmaek Party (ginseng + beer),' where visitors enjoy ginseng and beer with EDM music, the 'International Youth Festival' with young participants from Korea and abroad, the 'National Insam-gol Song Contest' for all generations, and the 'National Busking Festival' with performances in many genres, and fireworks light up the sky every day during the festival. Themed experience areas such as the 'Children and Family Experience Zone' and 'Health Experience Zone' are also available, along with on-site auctions of agricultural specialties and traveling traditional ssireum wrestling, making it a hands-on festival for people of all ages. As the number of foreign tourists grows steadily every year, the festival continues to grow into a global festival, contributing greatly to promoting local produce and revitalizing the local economy, and it was recognized as a promising festival designated by North Chungcheong Province in 2025.
