National Heritage Media Art Cheongju

About the festival

〈2026 National Heritage Media Art Cheongju: Yongdusaji Iron Flagpole and More〉 is a night-time cultural event that uses media art to express the historical value of cultural heritage in Cheongju's old downtown (Yongdusaji Iron Flagpole, Mangseonnu Pavilion, Apgaksu Tree and the Gate of the Chungcheong Provincial Army Commander's Office). Under the theme 'Treasures of Cheongju Opened with Light,' it reinterprets the symbolism of Jusung, Cheongju's old topographic character, through modern media art and transforms the old downtown into a grand stage of voyage, telling a story in which visitors seek the value (treasure) within Cheongju's thousand-year national heritage. The event includes media facades using the four heritage sites, a tour with 3D sound, photo zones and citizen-participation content. It runs for 22 days from October 3 to October 24, 2026, every day from 19:00 to 22:00.
