About the festival
The 45th Taebaek Festival is a citizen festival held on October 3 and 4, 2026 around Taebaek City Hall under the slogan “A Grand Festival of Harmony for Taebaek Citizens”. Hosted by the Taebaek Culture Foundation with support from Taebaek City, the City Council and Kangwon Land, it opens City Hall as a space for citizens. Programs include a contest among eight neighborhoods, a harmony concert, kimchi making, a citizens’ song festival and a resident autonomy contest, along with a Taebaek history photo exhibition, an oxygen healing zone and an eco playground. For National Foundation Day, traditional rites are held at Jedanggol and the Dangun Shrine to pray for the region’s peace and prosperity.
